Tulip Time at the Rehab Center

T and Cindy, Emily and Hailey, and Rascal sent Mom some beautiful tulips while we were there. Notice Mother's lovely aircast accessory. Julia and I went out at one point to run errands, worrying about how Ruth Ann and Mom were getting along...you can see what we found when we got home.

Mom's Quilt

A year and a half ago Mom had shown me a quilt top that she had appliqued and embroidered but that had never been quilted. I offered to do the quilting and started at Quilt Retreat in February 2012. I finished it this February and brought it to Fremont to give to Mom. She thinks she bought it around 1930 at Hibbings Department Store in Colorado Springs. She's decided to keep it on the guest bed rather than her own but I took pictures of it on her bed.

St. Patrick's Day

Julia and Mom made sure I had a great birthday on Sunday. It started with breakfast, presents and cards. Then Julia and I went for a walk around Lake Elizabeth. Julia was fussing around in the kitchen for a while (what was that about?) and then she and I went to Newpark Mall to do a little birthday shopping. We all went to China Chili's for dinner where we had honey pecan prawns, of course! Birthday cake, which Julia made and Mom helped decorate with caramel corn candy, and tea at home but only after Julia and I did our second Lake Elizabeth circuit. The next morning I had a 9:40 am flight but Julia had a piece of birthday cake and a cup of tea ready for my breakfast. I was really feeling pampered! In the pics below, you'll see me wearing a shamrock baseball cap and a green and white striped top with a bit of shamrock bling. All were gifts from Mom.
